Member and Supper Host Responsibilities

SUPPER HOST RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Menu can be traditional potluck, with members bringing casseroles and salads, and hosts providing dessert, beverages and bread; or pick a theme

  • Contact all members (email &/or call) with date/plans for supper ~ 2 weeks ahead; follow up with a reminder. (Note: Those without emails should be contacted by phone or in person.

  • Talk to board member and/or program committee about entertainment and or a speaker/presentation for the supper meeting.

  • Talk to Sunshine Committee about who might need a ride or support to attend; neighbors support will be coordinated with Sunshine Committee

  • Turn on heat, if needed, the earlier in the day the colder it is

  • Double check that there are trash bags, napkins, dessert dishes, sugar, coffee pot.  Members can be reimbursed for stocking paper goods.

  • Bring water for cooking and cleaning

  • Clean, decorate and set tables for the supper

  • Bring and make coffee and set up buffet

  • Serve hot and cold drinks as people sit down; serve dessert following meal

  • After supper, clean tables, sweep, turn off heat and lights, take trash, lock up, return key.

  • Drop off Food Pantry donations.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute a salad or casserole according to family size (one large recipe for an average family; double for family and any guests).

  • Bring their own dishes, cutlery, glasses

  • Contribution for Food Pantry.

OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES AT SUPPER
  • Open meeting with pledge and arrange for reading, song or prayer

  • Run post-dinner meeting
